Scheduled news download to specific Calibre library?
Is there a way to specify that scheduled news downloads go to a specific Calibre library?
I have a Fiction library, a News library, and a Gutenberg library; I'd like the news downloads to always go to the News library. Each library goes on a specific memory card for my reader; I don't mix them up because otherwise there's too many tags to deal with, and I'm just fine "putting down" my fiction books to "pick up" a newspaper or an old book. |

the news goes to whichever library you have open when the news downloads.

say that you have two libraries on your computer lib1 lib2. you want to download one set of news items to lib1 at 5 am and a totally different set to lib2 at 530 am. is it possible to do this via the command line under one user account in windows, or would you need to setup a second windows user account?

its perfectly possible. But you will have to write scripts to do it.

would you recommend using calibre-debug.exe -g or calibre --with-library etc?

seems like the news sources are kept in the user data folder that calibre was installed in. i want to use two different news source groups and two different libraries. is this possible? thinking it might be easier just to create another user account in windows, install calibre and schedule a task as i am not a very adept programmer.

didn't work. seems like the user must have to be actually logged in for the gui to start and download the feeds. will look at the ebook convert method now, but i don't think that will work because it doesn't add it to the library and thus won't trigger the emailing to the kindle address.

calibre includes a command called
calibre-smtp that you can use to email files. and a command called calibredb to add files to the calibre library. |
