I'd be worried. If it's inside the house, that's the same place that the call is coming from.

I hear ya. That's happened to me also.

This. Glenn possibly fell asleep while reading, and the reader is now between the wall and the side of whichever furniture he was sitting on.

I did lose my eReader once in my shoe rack at the time of putting on my walking shoes. After my walk in the park I was damn sure I lost my gadget somewhere with no chance of recovery. Three days later I found it unexpectedly in the shoe rack.

Well, It's been gone 4 days, I'm starting to worry about it. I suspect it ran off with my digital audio recorder (which is ALSO missing). Those two always seemed a bit TOO chummy, if you know what I mean. Always wanting to share the same charging cable and what not.

If I fall asleep while reading in bed, I've occasionally lost books (mostly not gadgets) that fall behind between the wall and the bed BEHIND MY HEAD. Never made sense to me - must have had it my hand and twitched in my sleep.

I found the darned thing, it was UNDER a recliner chair! I guess it fell between the seat cushion and the arm and then fell through when I activated the reclining mechanism.

I have to consider you lucky that activating the reclining mechanism wasn't followed by the death cry of an ereader being mangled.

This story could have been drawn out a whole lot longer. You didn't have to let us know you found. You could have kept us on the edge of our seats for weeks, the suspense was killing us.

At any rate, I'm glad you found it. And, as mentioned by DNSB, I'm glad the recliner showed pity and didn't mangle it.

Ahh Yes! However, my desire was to write a short story, and not a novel!

Good that you found it. They are so slim I can see how something like that could happen. Has it said anything about seeing your digital audio recorder lurking about anywhere?

I was wondering about the digital recorder myself. Maybe the Paperwhite was just a convenient hostage, meant to distract you while the recorder made its escape?
