Separate Amazon Account on Kindle Fire?

I bought a new KF HD (because it was cheap) to mainly watch videos, but I would like to know if it's possible to read on it as well. We have Prime under DH's Amazon account, so I would have to register the new KF there. However, my books are under my Amazon account.

Is it possible to have the same KF registered under both?

Sorry, but no. If a Kindle Fire (any model) is un-registered, all Amazon components (books, apps, etc) are removed automatically. The remain on the account only.
