USA Today to focus on digital content
What I found interesting is that they mentions tablets and mobile phones but not dedicated ereaders as platforms they plan to focus on:

Well, they already have a Kindle version. They probably figure that's the big hitter in dedicated ereaders and there's more money to be made at this point by going after other platforms.

As a slight off-topic, when Which.co.uk reviewed ereaders they compared the kindle with iBook (whilst highlighting the iBook as free, the disadvantage was it needed an iPad). Both came out 'well' in the survey.

The USA Today iPad app is (IMHO) one of the best news apps out there. It requires a connection to update but after that can be read offline. Next on my list would be the BBC app for the same reasons.

Interestingly, the iPhone version USA today has the technology section, the iPad version does not. But at least both of gem are in color

Yes, the BBC News app is excellent. Much nicer than reading the web site, and it has the benefit of being able to display video, which the web site won't on the iPad, because it's Flash.
