I don't think there is much need as the built in version does more or less what the Recent Folders programme used to do.

The Books-view, 'sort by recently Opened' does not do anything usefull on my device? Besides most of the magazines and pdf-documents that I have are not shown with a decent name in the Books-view, so it is not usefull for me.
@splendor: I have some ideas of extending the tags-system of ctb, I also want my Recent Files/Folder feature back. I first want to finish some xournal annotation-merge issues (big pdfs and cross-ref streams) before I start with hacking the firmware...
