Hi,
I am running pi-hole on one of pi3 for one week and it is a nice to have feature on my network. The project is mature and very easy to install. So, install and forget it, pi-hole will clean Internet for you. With the android app you can pause/restart pi-hole in 2 seconds, also a good point in order to know if the black list loaded is too restrictive. Thanks to have shared your knowledge about pi-hole! You're welcome. Simple things most people don't know about make a big difference. Just changing your DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) is a good start if you want to both improve the speed at which you surf the web as well as your privacy.
Cloudflare also offer an option to remove malware, and another to remove adult sites as well... https://one.one.one.one/family/ Alternately you can use 9.9.9.9 (Quad9) which should cut a chunk of malware sites out.. and these both cost nothing...
