Die zynische Beschriftung des Tors des nationalsozialistischen Konzentrationslagers Buchenwald mit dieser Sentenz, die zuvor nichts anderes bedeutet hatte als das antike "suum cuique", dessen Übersetzung sie lediglich darstellt, und als politischer Begriff die gerechte Güterverteilung beinhaltet, wird man nicht auf eine Novelle des Jahres 1869 beziehen, in der es im Hinblick auf eine Testamentseröffnung genau um jenen letzteren Aspekt geht.
Der Text stammt von der hier in MR noch unbekannten Schriftstellerin Charlotte von Cosel, die unter dem Pseudonym "Adelheid von Auer" von 1856 bis 1882 eine Fülle von Novellen und z.T. sehr umfangreichen Romanen schrieb, und wurde in der Zeitschrift "Die Gartenlaube" 1869 veröffentlicht; die Textvorlage verdanke ich wikisource.

Interessant! Eine Gräfin von Cosel (die tatsächlich gelebt hat) erscheint in dem Roman Sylvia von Georg Hiltl, und zwar als Strippenzieherin einer Intrige am Sächsischen Hof. Verwandtschaft?

S. Wikipedia zu Constantia von Cosel:
"Im Februar 1706 wurde Anna Constantia auf Bitten Augusts vom Kaiser zur Reichsgräfin von Cosel ernannt."
Allerdings ist Johann Kaspar von Cosel wenig vorher, im Jahr 1667, in den Adelsstand versetzt worden. Charlotte wird bei Wikipedia diesem Stamm zugerechnet.
Merkwürdig ist, dass Constantia den bereits existierenden Adelsnamen erhielt.
