I've defined my goal which is to read 60 books this year. I want to read all of the MR book club books for 2016. But that came goal came to a raging fail because I am not rereading The Golden Compass. It's not a reread worthy book. Good for a read, but not a reread.

It's not really a fail as you have read The Golden Compass before, and therefore can participate in the discussion if you so choose to.

I'm doing an A-Z Series challenge, which I'm already about half way through (it started mid 2015) and am tracking elsewhere.

First book of the new year read, and recorded, along with the first purchase of the new year (two Baen Bundles). Now, if I can just be as timely going forward...

At the moment I will stick with an overall challenge of reading 75 books in the year. Need to think a bit more about any sub-challenges.

Well, I was certainly optimistic! I actually finished the year at 787. (My list thread post said 787 but calibre said 788, so I took 788 as my starting point for 2016.)

I expect that my TBR will go well above 800 before the end of January. Depending on how I do in finding bargains, it might hit 850. But I'm still going to aim for sub-700 by the end of 2016! (I'm still an optimistic kind of mouse.)

This is that moment of high anxiety that happens at the beginning of every year, when my Goodreads counter shows me already behind on my annual challenge. The pressure!

I had holiday company through yesterday but things are getting back to normal today and I should start to catch up. I hope.

The Monday after New Year's is the day when all those resolutions start to chafe. They seemed so benign in the holiday glow.

^Lol. Mine says I'm on schedule, but only putting 50 in the bucket makes that a little easier. 50 might be a stretch for me this year. I'm no where near as motivated as last year at this time. We'll see. 366 days is a long time to get through 50 books.

I'm doing well on the sub-challenges already having read a Dystopian book from Sweden.

within my 50 gonna try to do the a-z title challenge can read in any order and generally for some Q X Z are hard ones so as long as there is an x in the title it will count. X was the only one i dont have a full title for

The / a / and do not count tho

Set my 2016 Challenge on Goodreads for 75 books again same as last year.

Easily achievable.

I did an a to z author challenge, but not titles. I might have to try that one some time.

Hmmm...X...Xerxes is probably an option. Xenon was a graphic (manga I think). Xanth was a series, but I think none of the books actually started being titled Xanth.

Q would be The Quick and the Dead for me.

I'm totally going to research this as a potential challenge.
