Problem completing root

Rooted nook and all went well until the final stage, which is when one is to create an Android shell. According to instructions, one must download the android software, then maneuver to the tools directory, then type in a certain command line:

With the NOOK_IP being the IP address of your nook, enter the following:
./adb connect NOOK_IP:5555

Problem is that the command is not accepted. Over and Over (with two separate computer, (one operating XP, one VISTA) the error message I get is that "." is not recognized as a internal or external command.

I really want to create this shell so that I can continue on to fix the home screen issue. Has this happened to anyone? Were you able to resolve it?

Any help greatly appreciated.

just type adb. remove the leading ./
that's enough for windows. You have to be in the tools folder under the adb package.

Turns out you dont need ADB to remove the homescreen issue. the new build has the option to set Nooklauncher as the default option. look for it in nooklauncher settings

Are you referring to a version of Nooklauncher that is still in development?

No, that's the publicly available version. In nookLauncher, there's a button "press to make permanent" (or something like that). So you don't have to do the whole ADB thing (which was easy and perfectly explained, but now it's even more comfortable) anymore.

Got it -- guess I downloaded the old version a day before new version came out. Got the new version last night and it is easier. Thanks.
