Minor formatting issues

Hi

I've converted an AZW to ePub (first time using Calibre) but have two minor formatting issues.

Firstly, some pages have a thicker margin at the bottom of the page, not necessarily where there is a paragraph break. Also, randomly page numbers are appearing on screen, about a third of the way down the right hand side, being imposed over text. This is on a Kobo Aura.

The page numbers are how Adobe based epub readers work has nothing to do with calibre. These numbers are automatically generated by the app.

If the split is inside paragraphs and you have two lines from the paragraph at the top of the next page, then it is probably widows and orphans. If these are not in the styles specified in the styles used for the paragraphs, the Kobo devices use a default of two. To stop this, you need add the "widows:1" and "orphans:1" into the classes used for paragraphs.

You can do this during the conversion. As you have a Kobo ereader, you can also do this when sending the books. The details for doing this are in the Kobo Device Driver Update thread.

As Dopedangel said, these are page numbers added by the RMSDK used for reading epubs. But, there is an option in the "Reading settings" to hide it.
