That would make it number 3 on the top list.
I'll continue to monitor this to see if anyone else casts a late vote. Thanks, Don |

The deadline for the real vote is in July. So it is a bit strange to draw the conclusion you do since people voting for real probably have not read all the books yet.

Go to the original post and all will be explained. This was just a thread to see what people thought, and before the actual vote was cast by actual paying members (who then have the privilege to vote). It was only that, and nothing more - however strange it may seem. Cheers, Don |

Right now, I think we could all use a little more magic and a little less gloom. Last edited by DixieGal; 06-16-2009 at 02:55 PM. |

I agree. I haven't read all the books, but the ones I did read weren't good enough to bother passing along to anyone else. I ended up voting for Little Brother because I thought it was the best option given the selection.

No. I meant that from the number of participants in this poll draw some conclusion is not possible. I have not commented in what people voted on at all. So I really do not get why you thought so.

Awards bring new (to me) authors to my attention.
The Graveyard Book? Seriously? Sure, it was an entertaining piece of fantasy but not, um, award winner material to me. |

Of the three nominees I read, I preferred The Graveyard Book. The premise was pretty cool -- a boy being raised by ghosts. However, for me, the ending is what got my vote for this book. I don't want to give anything away, but I like a book that doesn't have a sickly sweet ending that wraps everything up in a bow, and I especially liked the way things ended with Bod's love interest.
