Have you tried opening the bin with 7z?
Sometimes 7z allows opening of bin archive files; though not saying it works here.

first thing I tried was opening it with 7zip

didn't work

next thing I did was to install WinCE 6.0 Dev kit (VS 2005 + WinCE 6.0 Platform builder), but the Platform builder doesn't recognize the bin

hexedit doesn't show any obvious character trails..... most (or actually, every WinCE 6.0 bin I've seen so far) contains B000F as the first few characters, and requires more than just one .bin file ... so ecatco has their own program that runs on boot-up to decompress those bin...

I'm thinking JTAG is the only way (unless you manage to crash the GUI with some bad formed PDF)

So, ~8 seconds to boot to the touch calibration on Win CE 6 and ~15 seconds on Win CE 7. Is that what you were intending to highlight?

Just mentioning some of the options that may become available if/when
the device is "rooted". Most people would be surprised how much is there
with WinCE and what it looks like in its own clothes.

Inkscape has a command to flip the objects, you might be able to go to
"Edit" and select all then to "Object" and Flip vertical.

Just for the heck of it, how many objects did Inkscape find in the file?

Luck;
Ken

Yes, that's not a problem. I was assuming the software was supposed to convert it the right way round that's all.

still highly depends what services you load... for eg, you might not need activesync, Bluetooth drivers on either, and one might load faster depending on what you take out and how the OS is developed...

I still prefer to look towards an open source / linux-based version... Freescale has android BSPs.... I have access to WinCE 6.0 and 7 via Dreamspark for free, but i'm only supposed to do personal/academic stuff on it, which means anything I work on can;t be released to the public

I wish I had more time to semester to play with this device, but I think my time will be better spent trying to "root" WinCE 6.0, and possibly load linux/android on to it

I'll try to contribute during spring break in 2 weeks

Ok, I have not tested it yet.
Anyway you can fix it very quickly using rotate 90 two times in jCrossSketch....
or better in the source there is the file sfilter/Jbc.java where it is said y2=MaxY-y2 ....

I'll fix the problem soon

But first how The Gimp see SVG?

Gimp2 takes the SVG through a rendering process, that appears to have flattened the
image but retained any transparency. In other words the objects are not defined any
more. With Inkscape you can deconstruct the image selecting and moving the objects.
The images behind the objects are complete objects themselves, the part that objects
in front of them coverup are there. In Gimp2 there are no objects, just layers.

It's clear, Gimp deals with raster image. But I mean only for a test to see if flip vertical occurs

I might make something quick using iText ( java based, so cross-platform to insert the scribbles / lines into the pdf itself

1) Can someone post a sample scribble file so that I can see how they look like and test them (post the pdf that you scribbled on as well)

just some reference websites that I can consult tmr when coding:
Drawing lines in iText
