I didn't have anything the past few days, but I just checked again and both of my accounts just got another $5 off over $5 (and a $0.99 movie rental).

I checked and I did get this discount. When I clicked to accept it, a list of books popped up. Does anyone know if this means these the only books eligible for the coupon? or is this just a list of suggestions, and can I actually use the coupon on other books?

You can use it on any book over $5. When you go to a books page it will say "You can apply your book reward at checkout" underneath the author and publisher names and will show a line through the regular price with the discounted price in bold on the buy button.

The offer that I received this time was for a $5 _credit_. I am all but certain that the previous offer was for $5 straight off of the price of an ebook. Still a good deal for me this time, just not quite as good as the one before.

You can use a credit on an ebook, so how is it not as good?

You might want to try without following the link. When I tried to redeem the credit from the link I got a message my account wasn't eligible but when I went to googleplay without the link I got the $5.

It is.

Maybe it's a regional difference in how a person understands words--I understood the offer to be, "buy a book from us, and we'll give you a credit of $5 that you can use on your next purchase of a book, priced $5 or more, from us." I think that here in the deep South, we would just say something like, "take $5 off of the price of any book priced $5 or more."

Thanks for bringing this to my attention--I wasn't planning to take advantage of the offer, but now I'll see what I can find.

I looked on Google Play first and didn't see it there so I did a search and found the link. The link said that I already redeemed it. I did get two credits this year, so I probably did get this one before.

Just FYI, it wasn't there for me the other day and I checked the link (was ineligible). But then the offer appeared for me earlier today.

I've been checking every day but it hasn't been there yet. Where in the Play Store did you see it?

It was in the banner at the top of the Entertainment/main Google Play page. I had to click on the right arrow as the "usual" Google Play Music, Blockbuster Up to 50% Off, Huge deals on great reads offers showed up first. I think it was the 4th or 5th offer (rectangle).
