Remove 5.6.5 Jailbreak?

Hello everyone I have a 7th generation Kindle e-reader that I jailbroke using the 5.6.5 method. Recently I've encountered some sort of dirt or stuck pixel under the screen that has been driving me nuts. I've already contacted Amazon and they are sending me a replacement but now I'd like to know if I can remove the jailbreak I have on my current Kindle before I return it?

This is the tutorial I followed.

We do not have any Kindle nickname of 'K7' and there is more than one '7th. generation' model, but the answer is the same:

There is no need (your unit is heading for the recycle bin as soon as it is unpacked), but if you feel that you must. . . .

Use the uninstall_*.bin of any add-ins you have added.
Use the 'Reset (to factory defaults)' menu entry.
Update the Kindle to the current firmware version.
In that specific order.

Many people have sent jailbroken Kindles in under warranty, we haven't yet heard of anyone being rejected.
Note that no one has been foolish enough to send in their Kindle with an active Screensavers hack making it impossible not to realize from a simple glance that it is jailbroken. If you rub their face in it, they will presumably be forced to reject your Kindle.

Thats a shame. Is it because I broke the screen or something?

Amazon cannot legally resell it as new. (The microsecond you open it, it isn't new even if it is in as-new condition.)

So they will probably add it to their pile of Kindles to get checked at the end of the year to see if they are refurbish-worthy. Or at least sell the lot to people who do refurbish stuff.

No, it is because people time is too expensive.

Their cost (without looking at your return):
(New device + shipping + time spent removing your return from packaging and tossing it in the 'to be refurbished' bin) - (what they will get from sale of your return to the refurbisher).

That is not too expensive, as a WAFG: perhaps $10 an item ($20 for a KV or Oasis).

But if you add to their cost the manpower time to plug it in, wait for it to start, inspect it for user foul play -
Find user foul play, set it aside to be returned to user -
Put on list of people they need to dun for the cost of the new one -
Waste the manpower time trying to get $20 out of you -
etc. etc. etc.

Nope - you can't get to be a multi-billion dollar a year company that way.
Your returned item:
Receiving -> Unpacking -> refurbish bin.
And they might even skip the "Unpacking" step.
