Manual fw update hold through manual update?

I have a Kindle PW 1st gen (5th gen Kindle) running f/w 5.3.6. Due to the recent requirement to update the PW in order to continue connecting to content on "A" I will have to update. I am currently running:

• Jailbreak 1.14.N
• KUAL v2.6
• MRI 1.6.N
• KUAL+ 0.2.N
• KUAL Helper 0.5.N
• Python 0.14.N
• Backdoorlock kual_10 (NOTE: this one is older. The most recent is kual_12...I was afraid to update it but can.)

I think the most recent firmware I can go to on this PW is 5.6.1.1 (correct?). Since I didn't run the update by the deadline (whatever that was) I have to update it manually. 3 questions:

1. Will the jailbreak survive the manual update to 5.6.1.1?
2. Functionally, what will be the biggest "luxury" I will be giving up going from 5.3.6 to 5.6.1.1?
3. Should I update the backdoor hack?

1) Yes. All you need is a JB >= 1.13.N and you have a later version.
2) Cloud Collections -- on fw>=5.4.2 -- which is a big step back for people who sideload books.
3) Yes, it cannot hurt -- although I am not sure whether the current version will block updates on fw5.6.1.1

A folder named: update.bin.tmp.partial works on PW-3:5.6.1.1
I suppose it would work on a PW-1:5.6.1.1

Thank you for the comments. I use Calibre for side loading books. Can I not do that on >=5.4.2? What functionality is lost related to cloud collections?

Anytime you add or delete a book from a collection, you get annoying popups about being unable to sync the collection status of the sideloaded book.

Supposedly they were able to make it less intrusive in later firmware fixes.
