Hi! I'm new! (Surprise!)

I bought a Kindle last year and I can't believe how much I love it! I thought I'd hate it because I really like the feel of a book in my hand, but I managed. Now I can't imagine what life would be like without it. I've got about 3000 books and I move at least once a year. You can imagine how rough that can be - I don't have anyone left who knows me who'll help me move! And I often get a hankering to read a particular book, which I left in storage while I'm on the road, and so I end up buying an extra copy. But my Kindle cured all that. Now moving is a piece of cake and I can just download any book I need and it doesn't add to the moving weight when I go.

My son (13), who is not a big reader, has expressed interest in a Nook. If it'll get him reading, I'll get it. But when I looked at it, it had games and web surfing abilities, so I'm not as thrilled with it. Any thoughts on a proper device for the boy?

Hi Shadoe and welcome to MobileRead. I had the same experience with eBook readers as you. Now, I'm hooked on the damn thing!

If you don't get an answer to the question about your boy, try posting your question on our Which One Should I Buy? section

Good to have your company, Shadoe. You've already discovered one major advantage of e-reading. For your son, though, I'd suggest a device without distracting bells and whistles ... a reader, plain and simple. Luck and best wishes. Neil
