The nickel web browser does not remember cookies

This is something I find very annoying, and I was wondering if any of you knew any hack to solve it.

If you open the browser and log into a website, as long as you don't close the browser, it is fine. But once you close the browser, it restarts itself and you have to log in again. It seems like a bug that makes it impossible for the browser to remember cookies.

Interestingly enough, after a fresh firmware install, the Kobo eReader.conf file shows these lines:

So it seems like the browser HAS the capability to store such cookies. Once you use the browser for the first time, however, these lines dissapear from the .conf file.

Any ideas on what could be wrong here?
