Problems with 3G channels
I am posting this in the Lounge, but it could be in the News Forum. Here it will be less stentorian.
A friend of a friend of mine, tipical beginning of an unsupported bit of gossip, is quite qualified in IT, having got a couple of years ago a PH.D. in telecom from Drexel. Last week he was in Chicago for a business meeting. He told us, at lunch to day, that in urban areas in the US 3G channels (used by smartphones and other gadgets to access internet) are near saturation, i.e. there are too many users for such a bandwidth. That's it. All these nerds Iphoning each other. (personal comment) |

I'm not surprised, in fact AT&T recently changed their data plans and removed the unlimited plan because there was a very small percentage of people that used most of the bandwidth.
