Importing metadata from file name

I have several hundred ebooks that I would like to import into Calibre.

The ebooks are in txt format with each file in its own subfolder. The txt files are named in the following format;

[book code] [title] [(author)] [year]

example: abc-777 the count of mount christo (Alexandre Dumas) 1844

Not all of the txt files have the year of publish included in the filename. Also, some of the txt files have a jpeg included in their respective folder.

I would like to import all of this ebooks with Calibre automatically reading the filename and importing the metadata as well as using the jpg file when available as the book cover.

Thanks in advance.
