Get standby pictures for your Sony at nook-look

My PRS-650 came with three dumb images that it cycles through in standby. I was going to go looking for new images when I fortuitously happened upon nook-look.com. There are loads of images in a bunch of categories. And most of them are 600x800 pixels--just right.

Sure, the images are intended for use on a B&N nook, but they work just great on my Sony.

Once you've copied them to your device, goto
Applications -> Pictures -> Options key -> Select Standby Screen
and select or unselect as desired and enjoy!

Am I the only person who feels that Sony have missed an opportunity by not at least giving you the option of displaying the cover of the book you're reading as the default standby screen?

That is actually a very good idea.

It hadn't occurred to me. Maybe no one at Sony thought of it either.

I hadn't thought of it either until somebody mentioned that Kobo does that.

Another source for wallpapers is to search this forum or google for Kindle wallpapers / screensavers. Many people have hacked their Kindles specifically to add their own pictures. Also maybe in late Oct / early Nov there was a thread in the Sony forum where 650 users were sharing their photos.

I tend to have more than one book going at a time, so I'd prefer that the device remember my last-opened book after updating the contents (rather than a blank "no book" space).
