64-bit Portable Calibre

Would it be possible to make a 64-bit portable version of Calibre 5.x? Thanks.

If you were running Linux yes very easy.

Yes but you have to bulid your own. Look in the calibre2 folder -- resources folder for the calibre-portable.bat file.

Good luck

The problem is that I would have install 5.x and then uninstall it and reinstall 4.23 for every 5.x update. Can't a portable 64-bit version be made to download like the 32-bit version?

It works very badly because it means having to install 5.x, uninstall 5.x, and reinstalling 4.23. I do not want to overwrite 4.23.

So come up with a solution that means NO INSTALLING OF THE FULL 5.X.

I use lessmsi to extract files from MSIs when 7-Zip doesn't work.

Code:
msiexec /a D:\Temporary\calibre-64bit-5.3.0.msi /qn TARGETDIR=D:\Temporary\Calibre
at the command prompt should also extract the files but that requires using command prompt.

Thanks. The misexec command worked well. I was able to change the 32-bit portable to a 64-bit portable and keep 4.23 as is.
