I saw the movie that was based on several of these books and liked it. Now that they've been brought to my attention again, I think I'll have a listen in a month or two. I never realized there were so many books in this series and that they were written so recently.
Anyway, I plan to do my listening via the library. They're free and will always be there. |

Do you have the last unfinished one (vol 21)?

No, I never bothered to get it. At a mere 3 hours or so, I wasn't willing to spend a Credit on it, and it was clearly pretty unfinished.
I have the other 20 all as Patrick Tull versions. The Simon Vance ones are equally good, it's just once you start with one reader, there's a strong desire to stay with the same reader. There are also ones now from Ric Jerrom. I haven't really sampled them, so can't comment. Except that it's encouraging that his version uses the Clarissa Oakes title instead of the US The Truelove. A brief listen of his reading was encouraging. (These versions were clearly picked up as part of the disintegration of AudioGo. ) |

Well, the Patrick Tull version is complete. I know since I have them all here. However, I'm not sure what their availability is out in the real world. I can still download them from Audible (and I've made sure I have DRM-Free versions of them!), but most are no longer showing as available. The Ric Jerrom versions appear to have 15 titles, not 12. (Some are not listed as part of Aubrey/Maturin, so easy to miss.)

J.F. Penn has recorded Sins of Treachery, and put it up for free on her website:
http://jfpenn.com/treachery/ It's a short story, I don't know how long it is. Edited to add: it's 30 minutes long. If you join her mailing list, you can also get Sins of the Flesh for free. These are both from a set of three stories inspired by Dante's Inferno. Last edited by avantman42; 01-21-2014 at 02:36 AM. Reason: Should be J.F. Penn, not Joanna Penn |

Is the Patrick O'Brian series sale over already? I put a few in my shopping cart, but they are all over $10 each.
