Book release reminder?
I've just realised I missed the release of the latest book of a series I read from some time ago.
What do others do to track release dates and have a reminder. |

I simply pre-order from Amazon. That way the book appears on my Kindle as soon as it's released.

I use Fictfact.com to keep track of series, and they show upcoming books in series. Goodreads also sends out a monthly e-mail with new releases from authors you've read before.
I pre-order next books in my favourite series as well anyway, but that takes knowing there's a next book coming out, and some books become available for pre-order half a year in advance while others perhaps a month before release. So even if you know a new book's coming out at some point, that still requires remembering to check. |

The Sony bookstore lets you keep a list of authors for which you will receive notification when a new book becomes available - I expect other bookstores would have a similar feature.
Unfortunately, sometimes I get a notice that a book is available, but when I click on it, it's actually not available in the US - I don't know why this happens since I am registered in the US only. |

If you use Calibre:
You can add the title as an 'Empty book' and Make a (date)column: ue Date' (lookup: #duedate)with the release date entered. Search: #duedate:<today Remember to clear the date when you add the format or use the formats:false Search: #duedate:<today and formats:false which says the book is due, but not added to the Library |

Thanks for all the suggestions.
A combination of Fictfact and calibre looks the way to go, I will see if I can get the column color to change in Calibre when a book becomes due for release. |

If you put a book in your Luzme watch list before it is released, you get an e-mail when it is released.

I pre-order them on amazon. That helps me to keep track of all the new releases. I check the manage my kindle page every month to see what new releases I have coming up.

I keep track by hand (sometimes much prior to its dawning in Amazon or goodreads), in a spreadsheet with release date, and a conditional format which changes according to the date.

Amazon has a ''email me when new titles are released by this author'' option on their author pages.

I'm pretty sure that the subscription for new books by an author from Amazon doesn't include when a book is released purely as an ebook. For example, I have it set up to notify me when a new book comes out by Roger Zelazny. Damnation Alley came out in ebook on May 14th, 2013, however, I never got a notice from Amazon.
