Help with Deciding if I should buy a pocketbook

On some other threads in this forum, I have been trying to find a device which will work well with Sinhala text.

With the kindle I got only as far as looking at the text in the pages, but the table of content doesn't show properly as seen on https://ibb.co/pWwd11D.
Others tried with the Kobo as mentioned at https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh....php?p=4104409 but also wasn't too successful.

I would like to know if the pocketbook (especially Touch Lux 5) is able to show the text in the book and the table of contents properly. Can someone who has the device check this for me and attach some images of what you see here? The book with ToC is "sn1-excerpt" at https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...ygLi67_F9Y_X1N.

I would also like to see how the browser shows https://pitaka.lk/main/?n=15100 website if possible.

Thanks in advance!

This shows just that the font used misses the sinhali codepage. I don't know the specifics of the Kobo, usually one just installs a suitable font.

I tried that one and test-sinhala. For both the result is the same. There is a Noto-Sans-Sinhala font embedded in the epub, and as long as you set the reader program to use it the text displays correctly (from what I can judge, looking at formatting, punctuation and translations). That means "default" font in the stock ereader, and"embedded font" in KOReader. Of course if you use fonts not using that codepage you get funny results, see the attached screenshots.

Attached, I don't see particular problems (but I don't read the language)

Thanks EastEriq for helping out. Can you please attach an image of how the table of contents look like for `sn1-excerpt`?

Also what exact device are you using?

I see no problems on my Touch HD 3 either, in the text or the toc, with the latest firmware.

Given that the Pocketbook firmware supports Sinhala in the ToC where other Readers do not, I would say yes, buy a Pcoketbook Inkpad 3 Pro.
