Both true, except that for DVD's you can usually just press STOP, STOP, PLAY and it will skip the unskippable.

If you have any taste, you would not have that issue with the DVD as you would not be watching that awful movie.

*shrug*
I hate to come across as humorless but my experience is: • Insert DVD • Press "menu" to skip the trailers • Watch movie And, as a Kindle user and Manybooks patron: • Click "buy now" on Amazon's website, or download via Manybooks • Wait 1 minute for the download • Read Of all the complaints against DRM, this category of complaint is rather specious. And given the simplicity of the process, I'm not particularly impressed by someone who is sophisticated enough to make a multi-panel diagram, but can't figure out how to skip the trailers or properly boot their computer. |

Very true.
There are some DVD's that just don't allow skipping of the previews, Kali Yuga. Case in point is a lot of DVD's put out by HIT Entertainment (kids' DVD's). You are trapped watching preview after preview of Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, and every other kids' cartoon show they have out on DVD. It is agony. |

- TinEye reverse image search shows 10 pages of sites with it, with sites like boingboing and gizmodo, and versions of it translated to at least 3 different languages: http://www.tineye.com/search/e1b160d...2a95f1ca365769 - this post by Cory Doctorow gives MakingLight as the source, but I was unable to find it on MakingLight: http://www.boingboing.net/2010/02/18...-buying-d.html - some other sources get no further than this Twitter: http://twitter.com/kevinmarks/status/9300780865 - and the picture is generally agreed upon as the web meme (for example by meme.yahoo.com ) so I think if it was supposed to be copyright protected, someone would have said so by now. |
