As someone who gets several magazines through RBDigital each year, I'm curious to see how this ends up. The love the service but the RBDigital app is less than ideal. Getting mags through the Overdrive or Libby app would definitely be an improvement.

they're owned by the same hedge fund, so I would say this is a merger, not an acquisition

Yep. KKR purchased RBmedia (parent company for RBdigital) in Jul 2018 and OverDrive in Jun 2020.

Rbdigital also provides access to some magazines and comics (mostly Marvel and DC) in Australia.
