That depends how you define "success". Is it something that's going to grab a sizeable chunk of the tablet market? No, of course not. Are there enough people who want to buy one to allow a small company to make a healthy profit? I think there probably are. Time will tell.

What remarkable is aiming for is no better than what Plasticlogic had with Que 8 years ago. It didn't make much sense back then, it makes even less sense now. It's DOA.

PlasticLogic was aiming for flexible electronic circuits using plastic technology. A completely new fabrication process. The large ereader was just a way of bootstrapping the production system. Again, you can't compare the two companies. PlasticLogic didn't fail because it was offering a large ereader, it failed because it couldn't deliver on the flexible circuits in time.
