A 30:1 contrast ratio is like LCDs maybe 25+ years ago. LCD is about 1000:1 now, though they claim 4000:1 (probably fantasy even on OLED in normal ambient light).

Certainly interesting but like many tech / gadget sites in last 10 years its strong on hype and poor on details.

Low-power, full color, sunlight-proof displays... I can see a strong market for this. Just not in the e-reader space.

That's some cool tech! Ideal for digital signage solutions. I'd love to see the refresh rates improved to where e-reader integration is feasible, but I doubt there's much drive in that direction with colour e-ink devices making up such a small fraction of the e-reader market.
