New book covers not showing on iPad
I am adding new book covers to my ebook files as some don't have proper covers, like Project Gutenberg books. But when I transfer them to the iPad, via iTunes, dragging the files under my Kindle app in iTunes, when I open the book that I have fixed, the old cover and old information still shows. My Calibre app is completely up to date as I update it every time I use it. Any way to show the covers in the iPad? I know that they transfer correctly to my Paperwhite, but not my iPad. I think that Calibre or Apple doesn't support transferring directly from Calibre to the iPad so that's why I have to go through iTunes. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your help. I guess I will just try something else. Calibre cannot be useful for me unless it shows the covers and metadata. I really liked Calibre too. Oh well. All good things must come to an end...

Have you tried Polishing the epubs after updating metadata and covers?

Sorry for late reply. According to Calibre, the problem is with the Kindle app on Apple devices. Apparently Kindle restricts the option for changing the metadata and covers of books not bought through their store. Understandable, but it makes for an unsightly transition when viewing on an iPad. I no longer have the iPad so I am viewing on my Paperwhite which you can actually change the metadata and cover image.

there is a Calibre feature called “Polish’ that updates the embedded cover and metadata for the library copies of ebook files. To get it visible you need to go into the Calibre Preferences and update the appropriate menu(s) to add the icon for this feature as it is not on the default menus.

The Polish Book feature is also available by pressing the 'P' key on the keyboard. BR |
