Replace Home App

Has anyone installed a different Home application? (Panda Home, Launcher Plus etc...)

if so did it work? does the e-ink still work the same?

I use the app home + + as my home screen on my cell and Edge. Works great, everything works and very stable. Only thing it doesn't have are themes like panda home, but I just use the backgrounds app.

okay, I have just installed ADW Launcher and it is fantastic. it allows you to set the number of columns and rows on the home screen, which means we can use the whole screen without huge gaps between icons.

I get an error message on installation: ADW Launcher can't be installed on your eDGe. Any idea why?

NiaTrue, I tried it and it worked. Make sure you download the apk file specific for Android 1.6 (there is a separate version for Android 2 and above). Also I installed the apk with LCD display in landscape mode, which may have helped.

Also, my many thanks to mrspaceman! This is a great app and makes the home screen so much more usable.

Also make sure that in applications that you have the Untrusted Sources checkbox checked.

Finally had time to play with the app. LOVE the fact that it hides the menu bar at the bottom. Fantastic!

I am getting this error no matter which orientation I am using when I install. The apk available now is 1.1.3 and yes, I have been trying the donut standalone for 1.6 devices. I also tried the one for 2.x devices when donut wouldn't work but of course it wouldn't install. Suggestions? Maybe someone has the working 1.1.1 apk?
