pdf conversion error
I'm running Vista 32, and I've tried removing and re-adding this file. The first time I added it, it appeared to generate an epub file, but would not serve the file to stanza--kept timing out. I removed the file completely, re-added to Stanza, tried to convert and got the following error message

I'm also closing Stanza with and i/o error, and the database integrity scan seemed to time out. It never started. I plan on trying it again over night just to see if for some reason it needs that much time. I've also done a full restore on my computer within the last 6 months. I also tried to resolve the problem by applying the most recent update. Probably TMI... Any suggestions? Beau Last edited by Beau; 08-29-2010 at 01:00 AM. |

Good plan, it was running, but it does seem to remain at 0 for a long time. |

ok... so, after a full restart, I was able to reconvert the above title to epub, but still unable to serve it through Calibre and Stanza. The are 4 other files that also seem to share this issue. When attempting to view the epub file in calibre, the first 28.9 of 298 pages are blank between the front pic and the copyright info, followed by some very bad OCR. I'm guessing that the font type or other chapter heading things have caused this particular issue, though I don't understand why it's not being served to stanza anyway if the file structure is maintained.
Any further suggestions welcome, Beau |

How big were these PDF files? It sounds as if they might have been the sort that consist of a series of scanned images rather than text which is why they are not being converted. If so, then typically this means the files tend to be larger than normal

This one is 1.5 MB. I also left the database integrity running, but find no messege or evidence of it this AM. I'm baffled.
