deleting menu items

Hello,

I clicked on the wrong external program connection and the menu keeps showing unnecessary program items. Please let me know how to delete them.
I reinstalled the sigil program, but the same problem still occurs.

When I did something similar I used brute force:
  • I opened the Preferences folder (button bottom left corner of Edit->Preferences)
  • Closed Sigil - !Important
  • Opened sigil.ini file in a text editor (in my case Notepad++)
  • Found the [open_with] entry and removed it completely
  • Saved the sigil.ini file
  • Started Sigil and added the programs I wanted into Open withs.
If you're using a recent Sigil version, edit sigil_v6.ini

FWIW ... I have now added a "Clear Editor List" menu item to the "Open With ..." menu in Sigil's BookBrowser and pushed those changes to Sigil master. They will appear in the next release.

I am really not sure this is needed since invoking this would be a very rare event. The current menu system automatically removes entries when applications are moved or deleted. It is a stack that keeps a list of the 5 most recently assigned editors.

If it turns out to be basically unused by most, we can revert to removing that menu option and users can go back to editing the sigil_v6.ini file with any good text editor when and if the need ever arises.

Just to clarify, that's 5 per file type, not 5 across all file types.

Right?

Yes 5 per file type. The new clear editor list works per file type as well.

Ie, the equivalent of removing editor_html or editor_image or etc, entries from the ini.
