I'm laughing at myself a little ruefully here. I solicited recommendations for a 2025 challenge in a dedicated thread and ended up incorporating two of them, which is a significant proportion of six books. Thank you, rkomar and JSWolf. And now I'm worried that I've bitten off way more than I can chew. So I'm glad I went public with it; it makes it much harder to slink away and pretend a challenge never happened!

My travel challenge reflects that while it's one of my favorite genres, I don't feel as if I've been reading much of it lately and I have several that are classics of the genre that I'd like to get to.

My 2025 goal is to read Michael Burlingame's two-volume Abraham Lincoln: A Life. At 100+ hours, the two audiobooks should keep me busy for a while.

I challenge myself to read more of the books I already own instead of constantly borrowing new ones from the library. The problem is, every time I go to return books, I can’t resist borrowing new ones! It’s like I psychologically can’t leave the library empty-handed. Is anyone else struggling with this?

I also challenge myself to read more books in Dutch.
