Rooting Note Air 4C

Trying to root my new Note Air 4C, it appears that fastboot has been heavily stripped down and bootloader unlocking is not allowed. Secure boot is also enabled.

I have tried the loaders:

All met with bad XML errors.

Found EDL 9008, handshaking... version 2.1

Please always quote what you typed and what came back. Apparently you typed some command that asked it to do something before you had loaded a Firehose loader. You always need to successfully load a loader first.

Use the loader for the Palma 2 (on my webpage).

Apologies, I didn't realize that the /l flag did not take a space at the time, and did not want to spam the thread with updates on that as I did not see a way to edit a post.

The Palma 2 loader does seem to work though, thank you very much!

PD: I found it but i get the error Found EDL 9008
Could not open device when trying to load it

PD2:I managed to make it work,it was only a driver issue;i was able to root my device; I followed this guide if someone wants it.

If you look closely at the link in my table most of them are redirects there. Two of them are loaders that I have patched and therefore host.

I'm really not interested in the apparently random error messages out of that software.

Always start with a fresh boot to EDL mode and don't disconnect the USB ever.

If you have Windows you can use my EDL client and I can be more helpful.

ETA: okay, well, the problem seems to have been that somehow the WinUSB driver had just... unloaded itself? because having Zadig set it up again fixed the issue and I was able to read partitions fine. will report back if I encounter any other issues but I suspect it'll be fine, although this doesn't explain why bkerler's EDL didn't work.

Hello! Has anyone tried installing new firmware (2025-01-09_20-02_4.0_43a9adea0) after rooting?

@Trender22 i am on 4.0 beta03 and rooted. so yes working fine. Though i am stuck there for now as i cant install rc build because i dont have the boot.img from beta03
