Restore Database?

I had a power outage in the middle of doing a large import the other night. So I ran Check Library and I have roughly 3k books listed as Extra Titles. They all had ID numbers and the random ones I looked at have a metadata.opf file.

I'm assuming my best option is to run Restore Database? I wanted to make sure before I run it because my library is currently sitting at 30 books shy of 57,000. I'm guessing it's going to take a looong time to run a restore database.

You could also delete the extra titles and then reimport. Probably be a lot faster, especially for a library that size.

That's an idea but the problem I have is the import was only for about 1200 books. These are almost all fanfics which means I imported them using FFDL and their url. I still have the urls for the last batch, so I could re-import those, but no clue what the urls for all the other ones would be.

I'm wondering, what if I copied all of those extra title folders into an empty library based on the same column structure and then ran a Restore Database on that library before copying them into the original library? It's still a large amount of work but it seems less likely to run the risk of freezing my computer.

I'm also kind of curious as to why restoring extra titles to the database isn't an option in the check library process?

No need to Restore Database on the temp library, just copy those folders out and import them.

Are you going to copy them one by one?

But it doesn't import the metadata that's in the opf file. I know, because I did a couple of test imports.

Unfortunately. The one good thing is a number of them have the same author but, yeah, still a pain.

See attached image. It will import metadata from the OPF -- that option was meant for re-importing calibre save-to-disk folders, in order to facilitate transfer between platforms I guess.

Huh. I thought I'd used that option. I wonder if I'd used the one below it instead and that's why it didn't pull in the metadata. I'll give it a try.
