Is it possible to aftermarket waterproof (nanocoat) your e-reader?

Hi,

I might opt for either a Sony or Onyx 13 inch reader, but none of them are water-resistant, so, are there any companies where you can ship your e-reader and get it back nanocoated and thereby water-resistant?

Anywhere in the world would do.

If you no longer have a page turn button, can you even use a waterproof external case?

These guys offer such a service, but not for every device. You'd need to ask them about the specific ereader you were interested in waterproofing.

I wasn't thinking about external cases, but nanocoating, which is applying a thin film onto the device. Would it work? I think so. The company pdurrant linked to have got it working with Kindle Paperwhite.

Thanks!

They only handle domestic customers, but I suppose I could find my way around that with NYBox or any such forwarding service.
