Mini custom FONT after Update firmware3.4.1

Hi,
My new kobo mini updated the new firmware 3.4.1 from 2.6.1 today,
But i didn't custom my fonts by placing some fonts into /fonts directory.

By the way i use some Chinese fonts for Chinese book.

i need some help. Thanks!

My kobo mini version is 3.4.1 , bought from Canada. Always see Chinese books.

I found it often system halted if i put some large font file,normal not beyond two files.
So i don't know simply reboot way, and slide power button and keep some seconds for three time, until the indicator light twinkling.

As same as under KOreader, the system halted always run, it is looking very bad.
sometimes, i see one book ,the system is KBMenu,but the menu is not link the application.

Why my mini has some trouble problems, if i have some large Chinese fonts?

How large? There's not that much RAM on those devices.

OpenType Font ,otf font=56.22M , THE KOBO MINI ,how much RAM in kobo mini?

while see one book(doc), turn some pages is ok, then the system halted.

Do you had no problems with the previous version?

If so, you could try to comment out the line with lowmem.ko in /etc/init.d/rcS

You have to download your firmware from the firmware thread, extract the source KoboRoot archive, open the file etc/init.d/rcS inside the archive and comment out the line that contains the word lowmem.so (you have to add a # at the lin beginning). After that, repack KoboRoot.tgz archive and put it on the .kobo folder of your device. You don't need to repack all the firmware, you can delete all the other files. Just do not delete the folders that contains the rcS file.

Maybe a "rmmod lowmem" would work, too? BTW, what is the lowmem driver? Kind of a sophisticated OOM-Killer?

That said, 56MByte for a font is probably too large to be useful on a device like this. Always depending a bit on how that font is accessed or resident in memory, though. But it's quite certainly the reason why things get unstable.

I have updated the item,but i don't know how to test this function.

i only know the book exited with the huge font file, but it is ok with othe little font file.

If you continue to experience the same problem, then the suppression of the kernel module doen't work and you can restore the old rcS file.
