Zero Day

Has anybody read this? I started it last night (my first book from this author) and within 20 pages the resemblances between the protagonist and Jack Reacher are uncanny; same physique, military background, coffee, ... Anyway, will give it a shot, see what the next pages bring, I hope he carries with him more than his toothbrush.

I assume you mean the David Baldacci novel?

I've read it, and there are some similarities with the Reacher books yes. I can't say it bothered me greatly though to be honest. It was a while ago that I read it and I recall enjoying it but not being overwhelmed.

Yes, Baldacci's. I was a bit surprised of how much it reminded me of Reacher, just in the first few pages. Anyway, it doesn't bother me, I just found it peculiar.

I started reading book 2, The Forgotten. Really terribly written, and plagiarizing Lee Child's character. I'll stick to Reacher, personally.

That's the impression I got too, that maybe it tries to ride on the success of Lee Child's Reacher novels.

Possibly, but Baldacci is a pretty successful (in terms of books sold) author in his own right, isn't he? I'd be more suspicious if it were a lesser known writer.
