Question Acer A500 Tab not recognised

Hi,
I have just started using an Acer tab with the Lumiread software for eBooks. Just downloaded Calibre and it does not recognise the Acer Tab. On windows 7 it is not shown as a disk drive but as a mobile device. The android plug in is green. How can I get Calibre to recognise the Acer Tab?

Calibre cannot recognised devices that do not show up as a disk drive.

Ways around this are:
- Use the Calibre facility to Connect to a Folder to get ebook files out of Calibre and then use OS level facilities to transfer the files to the device.
- use the Calibre content server and rip transfer the files via the network. This presumes that the device/reader combination support such a capability.

Thanks for quick reply itimpi.
I used Calibre to find books. Downloaded to PC then used Calibre to find metadata. then used windows explorer to copy to the eBooks folder in the Acer. I was pleased that I managed that on first day of use but kind of clumsy when it would be better if Calibre could do all that. Sort of negates the reason for getting an all in one library manager.
I can't get windows to see the Acer as a disk drive.

If this is with your device connected then what itimpi says above is your method of choice.

You need to export the books from the library using either Save to disk or Connect to folder features before you use windows explorer to copy to the eBooks folder in the Acer. Exporting the books updates the metadata in the book.

At least I can use the library lising features and get that book features as well. It would be great if a workaround could be foound one day.

You might want to try downloading the books you want using the content server via wifi.

Yes, I was wondering if using it through wifi it would allocate a network drive. I will have to try a bit later and post again after I have tried it.

It won't allocate a network drive, the content server is a built-in web server to serve books via a web style interface.
