Any possibility of ACCESS Palm on Iliad?

Here's one for the wishlist:

running Palm OS Garnet from ACCESS on the Iliad....

then I wouldn't have to carry my palm around also!

I thought this would be a great idea as well. ACCESS provides the Garnet VM for the Nokia tablets. The iLiad isn't too different hardware wise.

I sent an email to Access asking them about iLiad support:

It is a electronic ink based book reader. I runs a Linux operating
system based on the 2.4 kernel, on an ARM based Intel PXA-255 processor,
and uses the GTK window decorator. You can find more information about
it at a few places:

Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ILiad

I have been involved in the developer community and have ported a few
applications to the iLiad including FBReader, Abiword, Stardict, and GPE
pim applications to name a few.

I am writing you concerning a port of the Garnet VM to the iLiad. Given
the nature of the device and your past efforts porting the Garnet VM to
the Nokia series devices, I was hoping you would be willing to work on
an iLiad port. The iLiad is a very powerful device, but is currently
limited as to the amount of software that runs on it. It does the basic
book reading and thanks to me and a few other developers, is starting to
act more like a full scale PDA. Having the Gartnet operating system
would much much more functionality to the iLiad.

I look forward to your repsonse.
Unfortunately, the VM requires a 2.6 kernel, and they aren't releasing the source.

ACCESS Linux Platform components (of which Garnet VM is one) specify a
2.6 revision kernel and GTK+ 2.6 or later. It doesn't sound to me as
though the iLiad could support Garnet VM as it stands.
