Need factory reset before uploading new books
This has happened a few times to me now and it's starting to be annoying.
I tried to upload a new book, but when I disconnect my Touch it only displays the "welcome to setup" screen or whatever it's called. No "processing new content". The only way to upload new content seems to be to do a factory reset and then upload all my books again. Pretty annoying since I also have have to upgrade the firmware every time again. Anyone else experiencing this ? Any ideas. I'm running 1.9.16 (has happened with 1.9.14 as well though), arch linux and calibre. |

Have you ever registered your Kobo Touch? It is now required, or sideloaded content cannot be added.
If you don't want to register, you may fake it by modifying the sqlite database. There is instructions for this on this same forum somewhere... Edit. Instructions are here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=262 |

Thanks for the reply. I have indeed not registered my kobo.
What a load of rubbish. Why was this change introduced ? I don't run the kobo desktop and have no need and no intention to do so. Guess I have to register my kobo after all. |

Probably when they introduced the ad-supported version.
