It's pretty clear some people on here are screwing the karma system somehow - making it pointless.

Not sure how they're doing it, but it's pretty obvious you don't get over 7.5m karma by posting "I'm drinking [insert name of fancy tea here]" 5000 times

It seems to be a case of "the more you have, the more you give", so if a person with 100 k points gives some out its going to be less than a person with 1,000 points, who will give less than a person with 10,000 points. the giver can only choose to give less than the allotted points not more, and it looks like most people choose to give the max.
