How many shops did you buy ebooks from in 2019?
Now that my poll on how many shops you've bought ebooks from has closed, I thought it would be interesting to run another, asking about recent purchases. For simplicity, let's look at books you bought in 2019. And I do mean bought - free ebooks don't count.
So - from how many different ebook stores did you buy ebooks in 2019? Last edited by pdurrant; 02-09-2020 at 04:39 AM. |

Four -
Mostly Amazon Baen Apple B&N I bought from Apple and B&N mostly to explore the stores. Apple had a several of book bundles that I liked and I bought a monthly bundle or two from Baen, plus one or two ARC's. I bought one book from B&N which taught me that I wouldn't be buying any more books from B&N. It was an older book that wasn't on Amazon any more. I suspect it's one of those situation where the contract expired and B&N simply never bothered to remove it. |

Most from Amazon US A few from Kobo Quite a few from saxo.com. This is a Danish bookstore, the Danish books are watermarked epubs, they also have many books in English, they are ADE protected |

Smashwords and Amazon.
But I still buy on paper more often, though I read more eBooks than paper. I just found another big bunch I want to read on Gutenberg today and one ancient one as scanned PDF only on the wayback machine. May need to read it on a tablet. |

I guessed eight, but it depends how you count ebooks from different authors' Patreons, SF magazines from different sources, that sort of thing.

A couple of the authors that I read have moved to Patreon, but the first books were 2020 so they will be in next year's survey . I think that I would tend to count direct from the author as one over all source rather than each separate since I suspect that reflects the intent of the poll better.
