I thought this deserved it's own thread.

Thank you Tom (WT Sharp) for all the work and great job you did running the Book Club.

I hope you enjoy your retirement. If you don't mind my asking, what sort of pension did you get from MR?

Thank you; you're right that Tom deserves his own thread.

His management of the Book Club was the gold standard. He was invariably good-humored, even-handed, gracious, easy-going and funny. And he also showed up, month after month, adhering to a strict time table no matter what else might have been going on in his life. The gold standard, indeed.

I fully agree, voluntarily spending time and effort for 6 years to manage a bookclub for anonymous random people on the internet, is something worthy of praise

My participation in book club has been negligible since I joined MR, but I have regularly visited the club discussion threads and I have a very high regard for Tom's good-natured, even-handed management. Thank you very much, Tom, for all the efforts!
