They claim it's only temporary while they restructure. Best to download while you can just in case. |

Not totally surprising since some publishers have reported not being paid by them. Hope they get the things they need to worked out.

I knew it was coming. I just had hope they would've found a solution.
So sad they had good discounts too. |

It's very sad, I think it was a very good store.

Just downloaded all my books. (Well, except the ancient .lit and OverDrive Mobipocket ones.) And removed the DRM (again) just in case. I now have a large folder from my Fictionwise account, and a smaller folder from my BooksOnBoard account.
I've also downloaded webarchives of my orders. Just in case I need to prove ownership at some point. |

Dammit. Most of my books from Books on Board are downloaded, de-drm'd and backed up but I had pre-ordered a couple of books that will release soon. . I hope I still get them.

Another in a seemingly long line and ebook sites going under. Plus, this and Fictionwise were two of my favorite accounts. They did offer good discounts. This is in no way good for the consumer. There has to be a place for these independent sites.

That's a shocking news!
I was surprised when I saw a couple of days ago that they weren't selling a book I bought earlier this year. Maybe this is related. I liked this ebookstore very much Hopefully they'll come up with a viable solution for everyone. |

Sad news indeed. They were a great source of discounted Penguin titles for Canadians. I hope it is in fact temporary.

I wish they had given us warning. I have several (like over 40) books on my wish list I would have purchased many of them if I knew this was coming.
I hope my pre-purchased book will be available on schedule. AJ |

I'm very sad about this. I spent hundreds in that store once they started discounting former agency titles.
Now I'm wondering if all the recent big sales was an attempt drive up revenue in the hopes of getting themselves sold? |

This is sad. They had become my go-to for epubs. I dislike B&N, BoB was a much more pleasant site to use. For the last several months, nearly all of my paid purchases were from there.

Same here. They were also the only site where I could buy UK books (I live in the US). Darn it. And I'd finally decided to pick up a couple of books from my UK-book wish list today.
