Bulk Metadata + Adding Covers

Hi

I have a few hundred ebooks without a cover. I have created a PNG file that I would like to use, I was wonderig if there was a way I could use bulk edit to add this cover to all my ebooks?

I had a look and can only see the options to generate a cover, download a cover or remove a cover.

@Josieb1 - Here's what I did

Installed Generate Cover plug-in (GC)

Used GC on one book to get the metadata laid out as I wanted - Title, Author, Publisher, Custom Columns - I think of this as a template - I have created 3 templates

Tip : you can drag/drop images, into the Select Image area of the GC screen

Get the books, using Search, Tag Browser etc that I want to have the same template & picture, listed on the Main screen.

Select all the books - keyboard shortcut is easiest
Click the Generate Cover Icon in the toolbar
Select the cover template
Select the picture
Click OK

A couple of hundred books should only take a few minutes

Most Calibre core operations and plugins can operate on multiple books - for me this is a major strength

I use different pictures to denote knowledge domains - my e-books are academic papers, technical specifications etc.
