I'm perplexed?

Ok, I've got a 4GB SD card in my Kindle, but Amazon is "telling" me I'm out of space? I hooked it up to the computer and while the internal memory is full up there is only a few kb on the SD card. So, why am I being told I'm out of space?? Any info much appreciated.

What are you trying to do that it says this? I think there is a setting telling it where to put downloads. (If I recall correctly).

I don't think you can direct downloads from Amazon to the SD card. Just move some titles over from the Kindle to the SD card and you should be good to go.

Thank you both so much for that info! It's just that I've never filled up main memory before.
Pilotbob, I get that message when I download the new books I've bought over whispernet.

Move the books from main memory to the card -- the memory is a default. But you'll have room for LOTS more on the card, and no problem with reading them directly from the card.

I ran into the same problem when I first inserted my card. Then I realized I had to physically move the books to the SD card.

From your 'content manager', click on the boxes of the books you want moved (I just put all of mine on the card) then click 'menu' at the bottom, and select "move to sd memory card'.
