Anyone remember Pogo? I only live 30 miles from his swamp.

On average, I move every 12-16 months. Including multi-day trips, I spend a significant fraction of my life on the road.
I've developed an instinctive aversion to owning physical possessions, and no article about how surrounding myself with a bunch of boat anchors makes me a better person will change that. The monetary cost for owning a physical book is simply too high, and then I can't even read it for half the week! I only buy physical books when I want the physical version specifically. Comics, coffee table books and technical references are the only format physical books still make sense in. Most ebook formats simply don't handle fixed layouts and breathtaking images well, so there's extra value in the physical format for those genres. |

With 2 exceptions, all but my cookbooks and needlework books are now digital. The Far Side and Garfield just work so much better in actual book form AND I can still read them! I expect to be in senior housing within the next decade, and fortunately, don't have a NEED for actual paper books. Much less space in apartment vs. single family home.
