Renaming books a problem??

Some books when they are downloaded have a very non-descriptive title e.g. numbers or weird name.

Is there a problem with renaming the downloaded book as it is being saved into the Calibre file or after it has been saved in the Calibre file...in other words, renaming it before Calibre is used to add the book and send it to the eReader?

There is no problem with renaming a book BEFORE it is added to Calibre.

However unless you are taking the metadata from the filename there is not much point as you would almost certainly want to correct the metadata in Calibre, and if that includes the author and/or title then Calibre will rename it automatically.
