As expected, it's a Wacom EMR pen, so I seriously doubt the aforementioned lack of pressure handling mentions (in fact, I've seen code for it).

Just got a delivery update from Amazon that my cover will arrive middle of next week rather than just into the new year. No change on the Scribe though, still 3 weeks out.

This is good news. Didn’t make a whole lot of sense not to have pressure detection - but strange how it was mentioned specifically.

The lack of pressure sensitivity was specifically mentioned as one of the ways the device was made thinner --- it would make sense for code to be present for that from a previous test version before that decision was made.
Ah well, we should know day after tomorrow. |

At least one prototype iteration was using an older 227dpi panel, so, who knows. Strange, though.

Both old Bamboo and earlier serial tablet Wacom and current Wacom EMR are pressure sensitive via the pen. I have three Wacom: A USB Bamboo, Lenovo X201 with finger touch and Wacom pen and the reMarkable using Wacom EMR. All are pressure sensitive via the pen. So, did anyone else have their expected delivery date of Nov 30 (tomorrow) kicked out to January 4 - January 12 this morning?
And they just recently charged my debit card for this purchase... after all this time. Last edited by NightGoat; 11-29-2022 at 11:35 AM. |

I’m anxiously monitoring this thread for links to “real” hands-on, in-depth reviews of the Scribe. I would imagine that some will drop later today or tomorrow.

Don't know if it's actually related to the device thickness though. |

I never heard of a digitizer that works with a pressure sensitive pen that doesn't use the pressure. An application might not use the data, but the chip that receives the data will get all the data. There are (or were 25 years ago) digitizers that only had binary on/off on "pressure" to simulate mouse left click. Very cheap and usually cabled. No-one is going to put that on a tablet. It's definitely a Wacom EMR, so there is pressure info on the internal chip, though it's possible the application only uses an on/off threshold for display on screen. |
